Should We Be Suspicious of Unity08?
1 February 2007 dans All God's Advice, In the News
Dear God,
Last year about Unity08, I read with interest about an organization run by some well-connected lobbyists and political insiders in Washington D.C. Unity08 says it wants to run its own candidate for President of the United States, using a secret system for an online election.
Now, I’m reading about how Unity08 is keeping its financial activities secret and how they’re listing several people and groups as occupying the Unity08 offices, and engaging in other kinds of questionable behavior.
So, God, what’s your opinon? Should we be suspicious of Unity08?

Chuck,
If you ask me as God, my advice is that you should just have faith and assume that everything will turn out all right in the end.
If you ask me as a citizen of the Universe, well, then I suggest that you look a little bit more carefully at Unity08 before giving the organization your support. If you ask me, Unity08 doesn’t look like it’s on the up and up.
Then again, I’m not registered to vote in the United States. The board of elections required a birth certificate for my registration, and wouldn’t believe me when I said that I was born before birth certificates were invented. They also thought that it was suspicious when I tried to register to vote in California and New York simultaneously. They didn’t buy my argument that, because I’m omnipresent, I should qualify for dual residency.
My point is this: I don’t really have a horse in the 2008 presidential election in the USA, but I do have plenty of experience bending the rules of the political games. When it comes to Unity08, I smell something like a plague of rotting fish.
Oh, that reminds me. Gotta run. I have an errand I forgot about in the upper recesses of the Amazon.
